I have noticed many people writing about US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announcing the plans to televise an execution by firing squad later this year - again, fixating on individuals vs systems.
There are so many ways that specific branches (worldviews, etc) of the human family want to end life that I wouldn't even want to guess which method will dominate.
Unlike other people who make predictions (weaponized LLMs, Anthropocentric/Anthropogenic Climate Change, etc), I don't even want to guess at a more specific date range.
But I do believe that millions to billions of unnatural human deaths will be expected within the next century which will make what happened in the previous century (WW1, WW2, COVID, Shoah and other genocides, etc) pale in comparison.
Some time scale may be the turn of the century, when it's predicted the effects of global warming - drought for some, floods for others; changing weather patterns hence disruption of farming, grazing, fisheries; pandemic heat waves and wildfires, will spell the end of civilization. Of course the global turmoil leading up to that could well mean game-changing nuclear catastrophe before then. Then again, the promise of AI and further tax cuts will save us.
"I suspect David Graham will be correct. One day the term ‘Magas’ will be used in the same manner as the “Nazi” movement that inspires them."
If we should make it that far...
There will be some human population that survives.
I wouldn't suggest some individualistic meaning of "we" that would include my "meat sack" (ugly bag of mostly water) still being around.
"There will be some human population that survives."
As with most organisms, somehow a few will survive the (nuclear, in this case) winter kill.
